After tonight's results, we now know who faces who in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Unfortunately, the Calgary Flames did not make it pass the first round...again. They lost in six games to a younger, faster, and well, better Chicago Blackhawks team. Oh well.

Flames Clinch Playoff Spot

I guess I should say something about the Calgary Flames clinching a playoff spot. There, I said it.
With only four games left, the Flames are tied at the top of the Northwest Division with Vancouver. Both teams have 95 points heading into the last week of the regular season. The Flames are currently hold the top spot because they have more wins than the Canucks.
Looking ahead to the final week. The Flames will take on the Los Angeles Kings on Monday, at the Saddledome. The last time these two teams played, I was there at the Staples center. The result was pretty good. I like to think that I had something to do with it...probably not.
On Tuesday, the Flames are on the road in Vancouver in a battle for the NW Division lead.
The final two games of the season will be a home-and-home with the Oilers. Friday, the Flames are in Edmonton for the Battle of Alberta. The Flames wrap up the season at home on Saturday with Oilers.
So, two back to back games to end the season. The Flames have to been good this season in back to back games. This should be an interesting race to see which team will get home ice advantage in the first round, and the NW Division title.

Got A New Bike...It Folds
Just got this folding bike. Actually, it is a Chinese knock off version. But, all the same and about 25% of the price. It makes me so much cooler, now.

Gary Roberts Retires

The last active member of the 1989 Calgary Flames Stanley Cup winning team has retired. He was one of my favourite players back in the day along with Gary's buddy Joe Nieuwendyk and, of course Theoren Fleury.
Great player who played with grit and finesse retires at the age of 42. He was a first round draft pick of the Flames in 1984. His last game was with the Tampa By Lightning when they played against the Calgary Flames at the Saddledome, ending his great career where it all began.
We will miss you Gary!
